Days 2 Ireland 2025 — Black Valley to Glencar

    

 

We have had no reception even with a SIM card since we left our last overnight. I will do some catching up for the last2 days…

FIRST -the LIGHT! It is 9:30 PM and NOT DARK! NOT EVEN CLOSE! But 07:00 still comes at the same early hour every Irish morning! So that being said, again, like my last entry, some photos and little commentary.. But one of these nights….  I’ll surprise you.

Our last momentary residence was Black Valley Lodge-a very lovey dwelling on a hill in an expansive valley. Nana was our gracious host and a most excellent Thai cook! We left around 9 and shortly faced a rather challenging climb…

If you look veeeery closely, you will see something peculiar…  It caught my eye and now it will catch yours :) imagine….

      I saw a house I wanted to buy way up in the hills. Stone. Abandoned. In a pasture with a few trees around it. And a for sale sign!!!

I’m rather slow out of the starting gate… I’m not sure how to catch up. We spent 5 fantastic days in Denmark  without  my new writing platform…. Flight awayyy

S-S   9/17-18/2022  We are now in Istanbul….  already the days are fleeting. We were  American run-aways but one day ago, and today, well….  let’s just say Rob is transitioning nicely into a Turk; I’m not far in following….  though our Turkish “please” and “thank-you’s” still need polishing (LOTS).  Turkish Airlines was a pleasure to fly; our two meals were deEEeeEEEeeLISH!! But I LOVE eggplant and olives and cheeses! The seats were fine, but my cute little window was FROSTED! I kept an eye on the flight map which gave various other information -and was startled to discover that the temp outside my cute little window was -52 C. THATS -61.6 F!!! It took me too much precious time to decipher blogging techno-smarts. But I think I’ve got it so I’ll catch up with more very soon.  I do miss my peeps

Day 6 Ireland 2025: Waterville to Caherdaniel

  A couple thoughts…  Sue and I had a rest yesterday. We are more better today, able to walk without too much discomfort and we are  anxious to be back on the trail. But secondly…. because we didn’t hike yesterday, I didn’t really have any examples of  FnF . (Flora and fauna, people!) I mentioned I would include some at the start of each post, so… here we go!                         *   There are MANY Hydrangae bushes on the Island—true “show-stoppers”!
